Have you ever wanted something for nothing? Well here we will list some Australian web sites that offer great competitions, or reward you for completing surveys or doing mystery shops. This section is intended for the adults amongst us as most require you to be 18 years of age or older. Some of these sites we have used ourselves, but some we havn't so we can't vouch for all of them and they may change after we add them here so it is your responsability to ensure that you are happy with their privacy policy. Just remember that if you are not an adult then ALWAYS ask your parents permission before entering any personal details into any website (including this one!) and other than perhaps some of the competitions this section is not for you. If you know of any other good sites that could be added here then please let us know .
Yourvoice . This one is a goody. I have been doing this for a while and have received a blender for free after doing only four or five surveys. It's run by ACNielsen who are a reputable international survey company. When a survey matches your details they offer it to you and you receive points for completing it. You also receive an entry in their quarterly draw for $16000 worth of car, holiday or home entertainment gear. I have just redeemed my second reward from these guys. They gave me a $100 gift voucher that I have used online to purchase a Playstation Eye camera and I still have $20 left over! Click here to contact me and I'll send you an email with an invitation link if you would like to join.
Cheers . This is a mystery shopper site that was mentioned on a national current affairs show a while back. You sign up and then when they need someone to do a mystery shop in your area they offer it to you. You are provided with a senario and may have to ring a company and ask about a product and/or you may need to attend the store. In some cases you actually get to purchase and keep the product. At the end you complete an online survey form rating the mystery shop and they pay you in real dollars. Sounds like a bit of work but for those shopaholics what better way to satisfy your cravings and get paid at the same time!
Homescan . This one is interesting. Dad joined the panel a few months ago. It is run by ACNielsen (just like yourvoice), but doesn't involve any surveys. They send you a barcode scanner that plugs into your telephone line. Each time you buy groceries you scan the barcodes when you get home and once a week the details are uploaded to the Homescan site via a freecall telephone number. They reward you with points that you can redeem for cool stuff.
EmailCash . This one is different again. You sign up and they send you emails advertising various stuff. If you click on the link at the bottom of each email that takes you to the advertisers website then you receive points. If you purchase anything from the online retailers they are associated with then you get more points. You can also play games, do mini surveys etc to earn points as well. Points can be redeemed for cool stuff. Click here to check it out.
Television ratings . I had always wondered who does the television ratings and how they are chosen. Unfortunately you just have to get lucky to join this one. We are still waiting!
Google AdSense . Do you run your own web page or have a blog hosted on Blogger? If you do then you can sign up for Googles advertising program. They provide you with a little bit of code that you insert into your web page and this provides advertising targeted at your visitors. Google looks at the content on your web page and then provides ads that reflect that content. Google pay the web site owner (i.e. you!) when a visitor clicks on one of the ads. There is real cash to be made here. Click on the Google AdSense image to the right to get started. They also have a referral program. You can place images on your web page that allow users to install cool software like the Google toolbar, Picassa, Firefox etc and you get paid in real US dollars. There are some examples of these to the right as well. Google prevent publishers (i.e. me!) from asking you to click on our ads or telling you how much money we make, but trust me, there is money to be made. They will send you a cheque when your account reaches US$100.
Spider Metrix Spider Metrix members participate in studies and surveys including video players, video games, tv programs and new release movies, gloves, glasses and contact lenses, chocolate, coffee and liquid soaps, searching, buying and selling, computers, scanners, printers and the software we use, what we drink, what we drive, and what we do in our private time…They pay you somewhere between $2 and $5 for most ratings, some even go up to $10 or more (depending how time consuming they are).
Paid competitions. Did you know that you can buy Tattslotto, Keno, Ozlotto etc tickets online? If you sign up to Ozlottories by clicking on the banner to the left and then spend at least $5.00 on your first ticket they will credit your account with $5.00 making your first ticket free. I use these guys and recently had a small win. I was then able to use the winnings to purchase my next few tickets without having to pay a cent. They have syndicates you can buy into and funky systems entries called "Reduced Systems" where you basically get a systems entry but a few of your numbers have to come up. This reduces the price of the ticket but still gives you the same statistical chance of winning the big one!
There is also a banner to the left for the Mater Childrens Hospital Prize Home Art Union. The Mater Prize Home Art Union has been operating for the past 46 years. All funds raised go directly to the Mater Children’s Hospital to help make little miracles happen. There are 9 Art Unions each year with a great variety of prizes on offer. This is a great cause and now you can buy your tickets online by clicking on the banner to the left.
Many of the sites below have regular giveaways and competitions
Here's something different. If you want to enter competitions then if your anything like me you will need a bit of help. Those 25 words or less competitions are a real pain and a lot of people just don't bother, but this only increases the chances for those of us who do enter.
