How cool is this? I was invited to a Sony invite only event last night to showcase the new Playstation 3. There was heaps of free wine, beer and even some of that boring food stuff, but the big star was the new Playstation. Two of them arrived in the state by plane yesterday evening and only made it to the store an hour before the event started. They plugged one into an $8000 Sony plasma and then gave us a demo. It does all sorts of cool stuff with movies, photo's and music. It can browse the Internet. There was something else, but I can't remember what it was.....oh yeah, it plays games as well! I grabbed Brad and raced him up straight after school today (Emma had trumpet practice). As soon as word gets out that there are two PS3's in Sony Central it will be packed with school kids, but since it only arrived last night no one else even knew it was there so the store was completely empty. That means that as far as we know Brad is the first kid in Tasmania to play the new Playstation 3!!!! You have no idea how much pressure I'm under now to pre order one for the March 23rd release, but at $999 it's a very expensive toy. They did give away a PSP, but I didn't win, I did get a free ticket to the new SpiderMan 3 movie due out in a few months though! I took a photo of Brad playing the PS3 with one of the store camera's so I'll have to grab a copy tomorrow and post it here.
[EDIT] Here is the photo. I'm not the worlds best photographer, but this is proof that Brad was the first kid to play the PS3 in Tasmania! He actually sat on the thing for about half an hour before I made him move on!;
